Accessibility

We build to WCAG 2.2 AA. This statement says what has been done and, more usefully, what has not.

Last updated · 3 clauses

01What has been done

Specific, checkable things rather than a claim of compliance:

  • Every body text colour clears the 4.5:1 contrast minimum against its background, computed rather than eyeballed. The bright brand green sits at 3.3:1, so it is used for graphics and large display only and never for small text.
  • No HTML text on the site is smaller than 12px. The lettering printed on the product artwork is smaller than that, but it is drawn packaging rather than content — every figure on it (strength, flavour, pack size) is also written in the text beside it and in the artwork's accessible label.
  • Every interactive control has a hit area of at least 44×44px, including the basket icon and the quantity steppers.
  • The site is fully keyboard navigable, with a visible focus outline and a skip-to-content link.
  • FAQ answers use native disclosure elements, so they work without JavaScript and are readable by a screen reader whether open or closed.
  • Specification lists are marked up as real definition lists, so a screen reader pairs each value with its label.
  • Motion respects prefers-reduced-motion; the scrolling banner and entrance movement stop entirely.
  • Wide tables scroll inside their own container so the page body never scrolls sideways.

02What is not finished

The scrolling text banner on the homepage moves automatically and cannot be paused by the user. It carries no information that is not also stated elsewhere on the page, but a pause control is the correct fix and it is not built yet.

The product artwork is decorative SVG with a text label. A blind user gets the product name, strength and pack size, but not a description of the artwork itself.
